When my mind gets to working on something, it can affect what appears on its radio station. Today’s MotD is a pretty clear continuance of a thought line from my previous MotD. And I’m okay with that.1
I’m not sure what dredged Nicolette Larson’s 1978 hit “Lotta Love” up from the depths of my mind—there are other songs that could have continued the theme—but it’s hitting just right this chilly Saturday morning. I’d forgotten about that tasty flute solo by Plas Johnson, so that was a great bonus.
On reading about Nicolette Larson, I discovered that she was pretty well connected in the country, folk, and pop music worlds. She shifted to country some years after “Lotta Love” brought her success; that and her untimely death at just 45 years old explain why I don’t know more of her music. I may explore at some point, but for today, I’m content with repeating this song created by the great Neil Young.

Wow. Blast from the past. Did not know of her premature departure.
I LOVE this song and have never seen the video, so thank you. Her voice always reminds me of Stevie Nicks. And that hair!!!
