While the bouncy original by Ringo and the boys is just fine, my preferences run toward the cover by Joe Cocker. Boom!

I’m glad you’ve found and nurtured a community here Jackie. I’ve been on Substack for close to a year now (reading and commenting, not writing) and I absolutely love the community of like minded music lovers I’ve found here.

I don't mention The Beatles much anymore, and only rarely listen, although the Ed Sullivan Show was like Pentecost to me. The spirit descended and my path was set. (And I did follow that Yellow Brick Road.) But the music has been played and played and the stage belongs to someone else now.

I’m a bit younger, I think, than the author and Al ( born 1967) but I too find their music played out due to its ubiquity over the last 60 years, to the point where I never play their music, but can still be knocked out a by a gem on the radio on occasion.
