Ah, to be young and desperate for attention and approval again ... (NOT). This tune has such a magnificent feel and drive. It oh so clearly influenced Bang a Gong, in all the best ways.
I can relate, Jackie! Nicely done.....thanks so much for the name-drop! This American Breed song has long been a favorite of mine! The song's songwriting duo is worthy of an article, as they've done such wildly disparate things, with many hits among them! So, your Tune Tag mention is so right on because of their respective track records!
Plus, you reminded me of the cool transition a couple of the Breed-ers made into the '70s! Thanks again!
Wow, blast from the past! A great song I’d completely forgotten about. As I was listening I wasn’t so sure that I even knew the song. And then the chorus got and it all came back.
"Bend me, shape me/any way you want me/As long as you love me/it's alright..."
Popular music was a lot more innocent (and accessible) in those days.

Classic.

Great brass part. It’s right up there with The Buckinghams, GrassRoots, etc. Check out the Fabulous Flippers version of “Harlem Shuffle” sometime.
