I'd only ever heard BTO's hits on the radio and didn't realize they put out an album entitled "Not Fragile" in 1974. Kind of the antithesis of the Yes album "Fragile" from 1972, eh?
Hahahahaha! I've heard *of* her, but don't think I've heard any of her music.
I was thinking about how many Canadian musicians I like as I was writing this piece... there are a lot. Now I'm wondering if it's a coincidence, or if there's some thread between my small-town Midwestern roots and the Canadian prairie.
Celine? Ugh, no thanks. I know I've heard her song from "Titanic," and have never been able to make up my mind about which is worse, the song or the movie.
This might help you triangulate where I am regarding country music: the only band that I know I like more than one of their songs is Austin Lounge Lizards. I have one of their albums in my library and actually listen to it extremely occasionally (it's been at least a decade since my last listen).
My parents owned a Roger Miller album, and I think at least one by Glen Campbell too. I liked those.
Does Twain use autotune in her songs? I remember hearing some country tune wherein the male vocalist's voice was autotuned within an inch of its life and thinking, "OMG, I didn't think country music could become worse. I was so, so wrong."
Waylon and Willie were in my wheelhouse. Willie still is, at 90 years old, a saint to me. Otherwise, I don't know the first thing about modern country pop.
I threw Celine in there as a chuckle. She became a cartoon of herself.
Canadian: Courtney Love, Hole
I'm not a fanboy, but her attitude was fun.
My wife likes KD Lang. She has a great voice. She's also Canadian.
Speaking of Canadians, Alanis has a new Xmas album out. Is that a requirement for all aging pop stars? When she first came out, I was mesmerized. Raw lyrics. Did you know she is a multiple sexual assault victim?
We (then-husband and I) got *Jagged Little Pill* soon after it came out. A lot of stuff was hitting the fan for me then, and I don't remember giving any of the tracks much thought. I didn't take the CD when I left and don't think I have in my digital library.

A quote from Randy explains it on the album's Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Not_Fragile&oldid=1173586662
I hadn't made any connection between the two myself until today.
Yes! So satisfied, I'm on my way...
Ah, Canadian rock. You must be a Shania Twain fan! JK
Joni, Neil, Gordon, Alanis

Celine?
You have to listen to this: "Who's Canadian." It's from This American Life. It's amazing and hilarious.

Quite interesting; thanks for sharing it, B.

Shania: " Man! I Feel Like a Woman"
That song is a loaded subject now.
Oh, she did that? I've heard of it.
My guess is not you wouldn't like her music at all. Country pop.

It may be; certainly seems like it these days.
We (then-husband and I) got *Jagged Little Pill* soon after it came out. A lot of stuff was hitting the fan for me then, and I don't remember giving any of the tracks much thought. I didn't take the CD when I left and don't think I have in my digital library.
Gah, I forgot something...
Speaking of country musicians, did you see that Willie Nelson was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night and night before last?
THE MUPPETS!!!
I had to google and sure enough-

and

Ha! The Muppets generally had good taste in music, so I'm not surprised.
