Her recordings for Modern and Chess in the 1950s and 1960s are some of the most important soul music ever done. The tracks she cut in Muscle Shoals in the late '60s are a revelation.

Most of the big shots of '60s soul did sessions there- and in the '70s rock musicians started working there, too.

As an atheist, no praying for me. Instead, I did a lot of thinking, and have taken a few actions that will affect bigger ones in the future. Thanks for your comment, Thea.
